    Dear fwade,
    On the default theme, it is set to full-size image i.e. attachment-full size-full. It is not possible to reduce via CSS. It will require theme customization.

    All cache plugins are compatible with our themes. You might have faced problems due to coordination with other plugins. But you can try out with some other cache plugins such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/litespeed-cache/
